Suggested Guidelines For Maximum Impact
I will put some guidelines below to make your experience as impactful as possible. Use your own judgment as to how strictly you want to follow them.
- We will meditate sitting on a comfortable chair with back support so there's no need for the lotus position or anything like that. Comfort is key with this style of meditation so feel free to use cushions and pillows. You need to have the back straight and the head free, looking forward.
- Don't eat anything for at least 1 hour before we start. Meditating on a full stomach is never ideal and it's hard to go deep when your body is digesting food. You can eat immediately afterwards without any problems.
- Also if you can cut out caffeine, alcohol, and hard exercise for those 4 days it will make a big difference. Those things excite the nervous system and we want to de-excite the nervous system as much as possible. Ideally, I would like you to avoid anything that gets the adrenaline pumping (if we can).
- Gentle Yoga or stretching is fine.
The meditation will give you access to an altered state of consciousness. This leads to a calm, peaceful mind with feelings of deep relaxation in the body. This technique also purges stress which is held somatically (within the body). Following those guidelines above will help us access this altered state and purge stress more quickly and easily but don't worry if you do break any of them, you will still have a good experience.
